What is GBB?
GBB is a blog focused completely around appreciating the archangel Gabriel from the CW’s TV show Supernatural. We’ve run some Gabriel Bangs in the past and we’re going to continue to and in addition to trying to add some more smaller low pressure events throughout the year when there isn’t a bang happening. The world just needs more Gabriel.

Who can participate?
All participants must be 13 years of age or older. All participants will be required to check yes or no, if they are 18 or not. Any participant under the age of 18 will be restricted to safe for work (SFW) fics and art and unable to join the discord server (we will have other ways to connect with you). Any participant under the age of 18 posting explicit work will have their work removed from the challenge and will be permanently banned from the event.
Minimums and maximums for submissions?
Minimum word counts for a mini bang is 2000 minimum with 1 piece of art. For a big bang it is 10,000 with 2 pieces of art. For a mega bang it is 20,000 with 3 pieces of art. There is no maximum word count (or art pieces) but keep the schedule and posting dates in mind!
Already on the discord, do I have to fill out the form?
Yes you do. Be sure to fill out the sign up forms when they are released for the round. It is the way we are counting people and making teams from. The roles on the discord only give you access to your roles areas. Once sign ups are closed the mods will be going through and matching everyone in discord to the forms, if we don’t see you in the form we'll change your roles to onlookers.
Do I have to have a discord to participate?
Nope! If you wish to participate and you do not have a discord or you are under the age of 18 the mods just need to know another way to contact you and put you in touch with your artist/writer. There will be a space on the sign up form for "Best way to contact you". We suggest listing more than one and an email address first and foremost.
Can I write/make…?
Probably! The big requirements are that works must feature Gabriel/The Trickster as a main character and be 100% yours (that means no AI). With that in mind you can write/make art that includes any crossovers, pairings, side pairings and side characters. Including but not limited to au settings, genderbends, crossovers/fusions, genderbends, RPF/RPS blends (French Mistake au), and any other non-canon interpretations. As long as the focus of the work is on Gabriel/The Trickster. If you’re still not sure if it's okay shoot us an ask or Contact a Mod directly via email.
What if I’m an Artist and an Author? Can I sign up for both roles? What about signing up as a beta and pinch hitter?
Yes! You may sign up for multiple roles with the GBB. Just let the mods know and don’t claim your own work. Keep in mind the roles you choose first, you are in both areas for author and artist you will not be offered first picks (regardless of how early you fill out the forms) for claims. Be aware of which bang you are in (reverse - writers claiming art or regular - artists claiming writers). Whichever role is doing the claiming is the one you wish to have first. For example if it is a regular bang, you would want to choose the writer role first and only that role until after claims. Once claims are complete you can collect the other one if you’d like.
How do I drop out?
We get it life happens and sometimes extensions just aren’t enough. If you need to drop out contact a Mod ASAP.
Does it have to be an unheard of story/art piece?
No, as long as it's never been posted before. So drag out your unposted Gabriel WIPs, dust off those abandoned Gabriel musings, for the GBB it doesn't matter if you've talked about it before! But we do ask that you stop talking about it once you've selected it. Let's see if an artist/writer remembers it and gets to work with you with it. The more passion the better we say!
Are there any required tags?
Yes, GBB requires artists and writers to tag for the following content warning: Rape/Noncon, Major Character Death, Graphic Depictions of Violence, Underage (based on the Archive Warnings from Ao3). Be sure to tag works appropriately.
Are explicit/mature fics and artworks allowed?
Yes, but only if both artist and writer are 18+ and both are okay with that rating. Please tag appropriately and keep in mind our required tags.
Can I combine my bang post with other challenges?
Of course! Just be sure to keep the bangs rules in mind, no posting before your posting date or sharing details regarding your work before promo posts go out on Tumblr, and your bang submission must be something new and not previously posted.
What if our fic is more than 2k but less than 10k would it still be considered a mini bang or does it need to be exact?
To be fair to all writers and artists, once your fic hits 10k or more it will be considered a Big Bang. Likewise, if they hit or go over 30k they will be considered a Mega Bang. You will have a chance to upgrade/downgrade with check ins. Any fic under 10k is automatically considered a Mini Bang. If your word count changes after an artist claims you must be sure to keep in contact with your artist. It is up to them if they choose to create an additional piece of art. They are not obligated to do so. They signed up knowing that they would need to create a specific amount, so expecting them to do more after that agreement is not fair to them and could throw off their timeline.
I went over my selected bang/I’m not going to hit my word count for my bang, what do I do?
The first check in will be your first opportunity to upgrade or downgrade your fic. If you signed up for a Mini Bang and found out that you’re actually going to be doing a Big Bang, that would be the time to let us know, same if you signed for a Mega Bang and found out it will not quite meet those word count requirements, just tell us you need to downgrade.
The most important part is to make sure you have a decent idea before art claims so that the artist will know.
In order to be eligible for posting, you must meet the minimum word count for your chosen level. You will have the opportunity to upgrade/downgrade during check-ins. For Artists, this is the minimum that you are committing to providing. If you choose to provide more, you’re welcome to. Banners may be made and can be created by any team member. If the artist chooses to draw more than the minimum requirement, please be sure to thank them profusely.
What is Time? What time zone are deadlines in?
Since the admin and event runner are in different timezones, we’re going to be running with the main event runner’s time zone. UTC +2:00 for the ease of making sure Leata has time to catch everything. For those not in Europe, here is a time zone converter to help.
We will be sending out discord, tumblr, and email reminders of important information and deadlines. It is important to keep the same email through the bang, follow the blog and if you are able join our Discord.
